About Levl

Levl is a marketplace where homeowners find independent handymen for small home repair jobs — mounting a TV, assembling furniture, patching drywall, hanging a mirror, fixing a door that sticks. It exists for the work that is too small for a general contractor and too awkward to do yourself.

How it works

You photograph the problem. Levl reads the photo and works out what the job involves, then shows you local pros who do that kind of work. You choose who comes — the platform does not assign anyone. The pro turns up, does the work, and submits their hours. You are invoiced afterwards, and payment runs through Stripe.

Pros are independent, not employees

Everyone working through Levl is an independent contractor running their own business. They set their own rates, choose their own hours, decide which jobs to accept, bring their own tools, and are free to work for anyone else or on any other platform. Levl does not set prices, does not schedule anyone, does not direct how the work is done, and does not penalise a pro for turning a job down.

Levl’s fee is 15% added on top of the pro’s own price and paid by the client — never deducted from what the pro earns. Tips are passed on in full with no fee.

Background checks, and what they mean

Every pro completes a background check through Checkr, a consumer reporting agency regulated under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It covers national and county criminal records, an SSN trace, the sex offender registry and a global watchlist.

What that is not: a guarantee. A background check reports on someone’s record, and no record predicts future behaviour. Levl does not warrant the quality, safety or outcome of any work, does not supervise it, and does not provide or arrange insurance — pros decide for themselves whether to carry it and where to buy it.

Where Levl works

Levl is available across the United States and is building density city by city. Pros set their own service area, so what you see depends on who is working near you.
