Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
Levl LLC (“Levl,” “we,” “us”) is a Missouri limited liability company that operates a two-sided handyman marketplace connecting Clients with independent skilled Workers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us directly
- Account info: name, email, password (hashed), role (Client / Worker / both), profile photo.
- Client home address: street, city, state, ZIP, and the geocoded latitude/longitude derived from that address via Mapbox. We use this to match Clients with Workers whose service area covers their location.
- Worker service area: a radius zone or a custom polygon drawn on a map.
- Job information: service requested, scheduled date/time, price, messages, ratings, reviews.
- Forum and message content: posts, replies, likes, follows, bookmarks, direct messages, uploaded images.
Information collected by our service providers (not by us directly)
- Payment information (Stripe): Clients enter card details directly into Stripe's secure form. Stripe stores the card and gives us a tokenized reference. We never see or store your full card number, CVV, or expiration date. Workers complete Stripe Connect Express onboarding, providing bank account and identity verification information directly to Stripe.
- Background check information (Checkr): Workers enter SSN, date of birth, and physical address on Checkr's hosted page. This information is sent directly to Checkr, not to Levl. Levl receives only the final report status (clear / consider) and a reference to the report ID — never your SSN or DOB.
- Insurance referral (ISG): if you elect to obtain insurance through ISG via the “Get a quote” link in your Worker dashboard, ISG collects and stores any information you provide to them. Levl does not receive copies of your insurance application.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, IP address, browser type, device type, approximate location derived from IP.
- Cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session persistence, performance monitoring, and basic analytics.
3. How we use your information
- To operate the Platform: account creation, matching, booking, messaging, payment.
- To process Worker background checks via Checkr.
- To process payments and payouts via Stripe.
- To prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
- To respond to support requests and communicate operational updates about your account.
- To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
4. Who we share information with
We share information only with the third parties that make Levl work:
- Stripe, Inc. — payments, payouts, Connect onboarding, identity verification. Stripe's privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy
- Checkr, Inc. — Worker background checks. Checkr's privacy policy: checkr.com/privacy-policy
- Mapbox, Inc. — address geocoding and map rendering. Mapbox's privacy policy: mapbox.com/legal/privacy
- Supabase Inc. — our database and authentication backend.
- Vercel, Inc. — our web hosting infrastructure.
- ISG Insurance — only if a Worker clicks through to request a quote. Levl does not transmit your personal info to ISG; you provide it directly to them.
- Other Users: Clients see Worker profile, ratings, reviews, and (once a booking is confirmed) the Worker's name and contact via in-Platform messaging. Workers see Client first name, scheduled job details, and (once they confirm) the full address for the job.
- Law enforcement and government: when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect rights, property, or safety.
We do not sell your personal information for advertising, data aggregation, or any other commercial purpose.
5. Worker address-sharing rule
A Client's exact street address is hidden from Workers until the Worker confirms the booking. Until confirmation, Workers see only the general service area on a map. Once confirmed, the Worker sees the exact pin location and full address so they can plan travel and arrive on time.
6. Data retention
We retain account, job, and payment records for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with tax, accounting, dispute-resolution, and legal obligations (typically 7 years for financial records). Background-check status is retained for the life of the Worker's account. You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us, subject to the retention exceptions above.
7. Your rights
You may at any time:
- Access and download a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate information via your account settings or by emailing us.
- Request deletion of your account and personal data (subject to retention obligations).
- Opt out of non-essential communications.
California residents have additional rights under the CCPA / CPRA, including the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of any “sale” or “share” of personal information. Levl does not sell personal information.
8. Security
We protect your information using industry-standard measures: HTTPS-everywhere encryption in transit, encrypted storage at rest via Supabase, row-level security policies on all database tables, hashed passwords, scoped API keys, and rate-limited authentication endpoints. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to minimize risk.
9. Children's privacy
Levl is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-Platform notice.
