Payments are processed by Stripe, which charges its own processing fee on the transaction. Pros are independent contractors and are responsible for their own taxes — Levl withholds nothing.
Questions
Why is the fee on top instead of taken out?
Because a pro’s price should be their price. If Levl took its cut out of the middle, a pro quoting $100 would receive $85 and would have to price around the platform. Adding it on top means the number they set is the number they get, and the client knows exactly what they are paying Levl for.
Are there cancellation fees?
A client who cancels within 24 hours of the start time may be charged a late cancellation fee, which is shown before they confirm the cancellation. Pros are not fined for declining jobs, and declining carries no penalty of any kind.
